Studio Policies & Participant Agreement

Cancellation Policies

One-Time Classes

  • More than 72 hours notice: Eligible for a full refund or one-time rescheduling.

  • 72 to 48 hours notice: Not eligible for a refund, but a class credit will be issued for future use.

  • Less than 24 hours notice: Not eligible for refund or rescheduling. However, you may transfer your booking to another individual to attend in your place.

  • No-shows: Will be charged in full and are not eligible for refund or credit.

Workshops

Tickets for collaborative events or partner-led workshops are non-refundable and non-transferable to other dates. If you’re no longer able to attend, you’re welcome to gift your ticket to a friend to take your place.

Because we purchase supplies and materials specifically for each guest—and often coordinate with outside partners—we’re unable to offer refunds or reschedules for these events. Thank you for understanding and supporting our studio and collaborators!

Multi-Week Classes (4 Week Series)

  • Students may miss one class per series, with the option to make it up during a designated “make-up week” during Slip Hours.

  • Additional missed sessions cannot be rescheduled. Please plan accordingly, as clay pieces can dry out or become unworkable between long gaps.

  • Cancellations must be submitted by email to: info@slipceramicsnashville.com.

Private Events

  • 2+ week notice: Eligible for a full refund or rescheduling.

  • Less than 1 week notice: Not eligible for a refund, but you may reschedule with a 25% rebooking fee (subject to availability).

  • No-shows or day-of cancellations: Will be charged the full event fee.

  • See our Private Event Guide for more information

Finished Work Pickup

Your pieces will be glazed and fired by our team and will be ready for pickup approximately 4 weeks after class. We’ll email you when they’re ready. Please plan to pick them up within 14 days of notification. Due to limited space in the studio anything left after the 14 days will be donated or removed.

Studio Access & Usage

  • Only approved members or students may use studio equipment.

  • Anyone using the studio outside of class must complete a studio orientation and sign a liability waiver.

  • Slip Ceramics reserves the right to restrict access during scheduled classes, workshops, or studio maintenance.

  • Outside clay is not permitted. Outside glazes must be pre-approved to ensure compatibility and protect kiln safety.

  • Members and students must clean all tools, wheels, and work areas after use. Failure to do so may result in suspended access.

Liability Waiver & Acknowledgment

By booking a class, purchasing a membership, or entering the Slip Ceramics studio, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • Pottery involves the use of tools, equipment, glazes, and kilns that carry inherent risk. You are participating voluntarily and assume all responsibility for any injury or property damage.

  • Slip Ceramics LLC, including its owners, instructors, staff, and agents, shall not be held liable for any claims, injuries, losses, or damages resulting from participation in classes, studio use, or events—including negligence or equipment failure.

  • You agree to waive and release Slip Ceramics LLC from any and all claims, liabilities, or legal actions resulting from your time in the studio, including travel to and from the premises.

  • You are responsible for your personal property. Slip Ceramics is not liable for loss or damage to personal tools, artwork, or belongings left in the studio.

Media Release

Unless otherwise requested in writing, you grant Slip Ceramics permission to use your likeness and/or images of your work in promotional materials, social media, and publications.

If you do not wish to be photographed or have your work featured, please notify us in writing at info@slipceramicsnashville.com and inform your instructor at the start of your session.
